With sixth grade college students we labored on the theme of achromatic colours and tonal gradations, and we created these work with tempera paint to observe on grey scales and shade tones.

First we traced a picture with a stylized animal utilizing carbon paper, then we painted the animal with achromatic colors, white, black and scale of greys.

After that twe divided the background into areas, tracing a sequence of strains with a pencil. We painted the varied areas of the background with completely different shades of a shade, ranging from the lightest colours, mixing WHITE with little or no pure shade on the palette and progressively including extra shade. To create the darkish colours we began from a PURE COLOR and added very small portions of black.

When the portray was completely dry we traced all of the strains of the drawing with a everlasting black marker.

Listed below are our work!
